Spring news at the Music Club
A fantastic Easter holiday outing took place on the 19th April. 40 members arrived at the OxfordPlayhouse to see 'Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling. The event was made extra special by the pre- show touch tour organised by the Playhouse. All children and families were able to go back stage and on the stage to meet the cast who were all dressed in their costumes. This was particularly important and exciting for our blind and partially sighted members. The touch tour was great. The cast members explained the costumes and staging to the children allowing them to feel and ask questions! Following photos and complementary drink, we watched a fabulous action packed show enhanced by wonderful music with an easter egg, ice cream and chocolate break during the intermission! 9th May saw the monthly meeting at the Crowmarsh Village hall with Sally Zimmerman from the RNIB. Sally is a music advisor and has worked with disabled children for many years. We were pleased to have the Oxford Mail come along to take some photos and celebrate the donation awarded to The Music Club by the Red Nose Charity. We are planning a great summer fun day for the 14th August 2011, 11am - 4pm at the Crowmarsh Village Hall. Bouncy Castle, archery, morris dancers, arts and craft, skittles, climbing wall and more.
